Health care reform was supposed to help people who have been unable to get health insurance because of pre-existing medical conditions. But, the rule you issued for the new Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plans (OCIIO-9995-IFC) denies women with serious medical conditions, like cancer and heart disease, the coverage they desperately need to end pregnancies that are threatening their health.

Health reform should safeguard women’s health. I urge you to lift the harmful abortion restrictions in the Pre-existing Conditions Insurance Plans.
